From 1st July 2007 in Italy, like the rest of Europe, the complete freedom of demand for energy, came into effect, adopting the 2003 Directives EU 54 (electricity) and 55 (gas).
As regards gas, already from January 2003 all consumers, including domestic customers, (i.e. those consumers that receive natural gas to heat their own homes or for cooking) can find the seller who proposes an offer that they consider most interesting.
