The A2A Spa Group is mainly present in the following sectors:
- Production, sale and distribution of electricity
- Sale and distribution of gas
- Production, distribution and sale of heat through district heating networks
- Management of waste
- Management of integrated water cycle
Activities are organised into 4 “lines” in addition to corporate and other services:

ENERGY
The aim of the “energy line” is to sell electricity and methane gas on wholesale retail markets. Support to the commercial area is ensured by the activities of supplying fuel, planning and despatching to electricity generating plants, optimising portfolios and trading on national and foreign markets.
HEAT AND SERVICES
The aim of this line of activity is mainly to sell heat and electricity produced by cogeneration plants (prevalently owned by the Group). Sale heat produced by cogeneration takes place through district heating networks. The line of activity also offers heating systems management services on behalf of third parties (heat management services) and facility management activities.
ENVIRONMENT
This line’s activities related to the waste, collection and road sweeping management cycle, treatment, disposal and recovery of materials and energy. In fact, this includes the recovery of energy content from waste through waste-to-energy and biogas plants.
NETWORKS
The line of activity includes the technical and operative management of energy transmission and distribution networks, as well as transport and distribution of natural gas and management of the whole Integrated Water Cycle (from up-take of water, management of aqueducts, water distribution, management of sewerage systems to purification).
CORPORATE AND OTHER SERVICES
Corporate services include guidance, strategic orientation, coordination and control of industrial management, as well as support services for business activities and operative activities (for example, administration and accounting, financial, legal and supplying, human resource management, information technology, communications, etc.).
The Other Services include public illumination, traffic regulation systems, video surveillance services, and the management of votive lighting.
