A2A Investor Relations Team

Increased efficiency and reducing environmental impact

Generating electricity and safeguarding the environment were the guiding principles adopted for the development of the Cassano d’Adda Plant. There are two reasons for the success of this project: the constant use of avant-garde technologies and continuous training of technical staff capable of managing complex processes.
In fact, the fact that there are highly specialised staff and the adoption of highly technological solutions allow for the best choices to be made as and when required, as well as the best choices to overcome any events that occur within the plant during its functioning, including as regards protecting the environment and the health of the citizens resident in close proximity to the plant.

Relations between A2A, the company that owns the plant and local authorities are intense and continuous: these include the Municipality of Cassano d'Adda, Truccazzano and the Consortium for the management of the Parco Adda Nord.

The programme for the expansion and environmental development of the plant has often been the subject of debate with local authorities, so that pre-determined objectives can be shared in a transparent manner; more specifically, agreements were concluded with the Municipality of Cassano d’Adda as far back as June 1999, then again in January 2001 and April 2004, which have since been adopted by other public bodies, together with legislation that constitutes a joint normative framework that is subject to inspection, and which contributes to the creation of conditions that allow for the development of an intense and mutually beneficial relationship between the resident community and the plant itself.
