The pilot project “E-MOVING”

 A2A is also giving a significant thrust to sustainability through the e-moving project: this is an experimental initiative that envisages a limited number of electric vehicles (prototypes or pre-serial cars) and charging points. The objectives of the project are as follows:

  • to be present as the network service manager in leading harmonic development of the electricity distribution network and reducing polluting emissions in practical terms;
  • to take part in the study of the issues and opportunities connected with the new service by interacting in a proactive manner with the other parties involved;
  • to put the experience and know-how deriving from a system of sustainable mobility in the city areas at the municipality’s disposal;
  • to provide in the best way possible the information and results required to assess subsequent stages at the end of the testing period.

The pilot stage took off in the cities of Milan and Brescia in June 2010, continued throughout 2011 and will keep going for a part of 2012, setting itself the objective of testing the various components of the electric mobility operating model drawn up by Renault and A2A in partnership: technology and positioning of the recharging infrastructure, processes and commercial solutions connected with the sale or lease of electric vehicles, interaction between the recharging network and the vehicles themselves, supply of electricity for running the vehicles and the linked billing systems, management of batteries and maintenance of the electric vehicles.
