Renault zero emission vehicles
The vehicle involved in the Pilot project “E-Moving” are two of the four that will comprise the Renault Zero Emission range, to be introduced into the market as from 2011 for a total of 60 vehicles:
- Kangoo Z.E. è una furgonetta elettrica, destinata a flotte ed operatori professionali, lunga 4,2 m. È derivata dal Renault Kangoo Express, già disponibile in versione termica, di cui ripropone i riconosciuti standard di comfort, abitabilità e sicurezza, unitamente a quella praticità e funzionalità che la rendono ideale per il trasporto delle merci in ambito urbano e quindi per le consegne o gli interventi di prossimità, grazie ad una capacità di carico di 650 kg.
- Fluence Z.E. is a refined sedan car that enables 5 persons to be transported comfortably and demonstrates that automobile seduction, comfort and space are concepts that are perfectly compatible with respect for the environment. With a length of 4.75 metres, Fluence ZE is offered as being a statutory and elegant model, suitable for both private and professional requirements.
The vehicles will be equipped with the same 70kW electric engine (95cv).
The vehicles will e equipped with the latest generation lithium ionium batteries, produced by AESC (Automotive Energy Supply Corporation), a joint venture between Nissan and NEC. These batteries will provide the electric vehicles with a range of about 160 kilometres, suitable to meet all requirements of urban motoring.
The vehicles will also be equipped with a system of intelligent navigation that will permit the nearest recharging points to be located and to propose alternative routes should the residual autonomy be insufficient to reach the programmed destination.
Commercial offer for Renault ZE vehicles in the “E-MOVING” project
During this “pilot” phase, both models tested in the project will be offered at a utilisation tariff rate in line with the leasing tariffs for diesel vehicles having the same size and performance.
With this approach, Renault intends to make electric cars form a transport solution both convenient and accessible, inaugurating a marketing strategy based on battery leasing. An ideal solution to guarantee the competitiveness of the electric vehicle compared to the thermal one and to protect the user from the devaluation of the battery, due, for example, to the arrival of new technology.
