A2A's activities related to the three areas of sustainability - fiscal, environmental and social - are summarised in the Group's sustainability balance sheet.
The Group acts responsibly towards its interlocutors (employees, clients, suppliers, investors, institutions, communities) for progressive and constant growth over time and to communicate the results of this commitment by means of the sustainability balance sheet, which has been published since 2008.
A year before the scheduled deadline, the 2014 edition was drafted according to the new Global Reporting Initiative (G4) guidelines, which put additional emphasis on reading the stakeholders' expectations carefully. They call for identifying the basis for processing the balance sheet itself and stating this in the materiality definitions.
Therefore, the "materiality matrix" was updated to represent the 24 most relevant issues for A2A and its stakeholders. Standing out among these priorities are: the quality of service provided, responsible management of the business supply chain, employment and personnel development, internal and external communication and air quality.
