A2A acquires 16 photovoltaic plants and continues with its green strategy

Installed solar capacity rises to 38.4 MW

Milan, 16 October 2017 - A2A has taken a new “green” step on its path to develop energy production from renewable sources with the acquisition - from Novapower - of 16 photovoltaic plants in the Marche region, for an installed power of 17.8 MW and annual production of 23.4 GWh.

Thanks to this transaction, which follows the acquisition of 18 photovoltaic plants at the end of September, the Group brings the installed solar capacity to 38.4 MW.

"This acquisition, less than one month after the previous one, confirms our wish to grow in the renewable energy sector," stated Valerio Camerano, Chief Executive Officer of A2A. "We are proceeding in line with the strategies laid down in the Group's Business Plan, which involves important investments in the green economy. These 16 plants, in addition to the 18 acquired in September, will allow the Group to create a consolidation platform for expansion into renewable energies. We will continue in this direction, also through the creation of new distributed generation plants designed to meet customers’ requirements."

The transaction was completed by A2A Rinnovabili, a company of the Group recently established to oversee these opportunities.

For A2A it is a further significant step in the direction of gradual diversification of the generation mix and greater attention to the opportunities offered by the development of renewable sources and technologies for the conservation of energy to serve families and businesses. Moreover, it is a further contribution to the achievement of national and EU objectives to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases.
